Being a school leader is a challenge. The tasks are highly diverse and the context is highly complicated. As a result, school leaders are prone to the scrutiny and the judgmental eyes of those around them. One common phenomenon is that school leaders are being accused of malversation of public funds. The study aims to explore the experiences of those school principals who were accused of malversation but were found innocent in court. Multiple case analysis research design was used to provide answers to the research questions. Qualitative data analysis revealed that the common reasons of the accusations were misplaced trust and complacency of school leaders. The accusations resulted to sleepless nights and troubled homes. The entire experience resulted to the loss of trust and resiliency of the participants. Discussions and recommendations were provided to guide stakeholders so that they may be able to understand the experiences of being falsely accused of malversation.
