Cultural Anthropology. - 11th./ed - xxviii, 518p. illus., bibliography, inex 27.5cm.

This book is designed to increase students' understanding of the globally interconnected world, the human past and present, the unity and diversity that characterize the human species, and the challenges we face as we look ahead. It enables students to make sense of the behavior and cultures of peoples unlike themselves, as well as gain insight into their own behavior and society. It shows them how anthropology has been applied to think about and sometimes solve critical problems facing different societies. This book introduces fundamental concepts, theories, methods, data and references in ways that are exciting and informative. It is sophisticated enough to provide a firm foundation for students who intend to major in anthropology, but also broad enough for those who may take only one or two courses in the subject. The topics included in the text cover the full range of cultural anthropology and are presented in an order most frequently taught in anthropology classrooms. However the book is designed so that instructor may skip chapters or rearranged them to reflect their own interest and the emphases of their courses.
