Academic and Physical Competitiveness of Selected Public Elementary Schools in the Division of Bataan: Basis for Enhancement /

The study aimed to determine how school administrator's academic and administrative related factors affect the academic and physical competitiveness of Selected Public Elementary Schools in the Division of Bataan during School Year 2012-2013. Specifically, the personal profile of school administrators and the leadership skills focused on instructional supervision, research and evaluation, extension and other related activities whilst the school administrators and administrative skills as illustrated in this study. On the other hand, the dependent variables consisted of frame includes the level of academic and physical competitiveness of school administrators in terms of academic level and the physical facilities in Brigada Eskwela and the Sports level where skills of learners are tapped to inspire the community in boosting morale of children in school. The data gathered through the validated self-made questionnaire were tallied and tabulated being required by the previously state problems and distributed in accordance with variables stated in the problems. The data collected through the questionnaire was encoded and statistically processed using the built-in statistical package in MS Excel 2010 and Statistical Package for Social Science or simply SPSS version 18. The program was used to facilitate the processing analysis and interpretation of data. SPSS readily provides the significance or probability levels for the statistical test. It was concluded that the following null hypothesis: There is no significant difference between the perceived level of effectiveness of academic administrative leadership of school administrators with respect to instructional supervision, research and evaluation and extension and related activities. Hence, the null hypothesis that there is significant difference between the means of the respondents is not rejected; the hypothesis that there is no significant relationship between the level of academic and physical competitiveness in the selected public elementary schools in the Division of Bataan is highly agreeable and not rejected; the hypothesis that there is no significant relationship between the profile of school administrators with the level of Academic and Physical Competitiveness of Selected Public Elementary Schools in the division of Bataan is significant as ANOVA analysis is used when schools were grouped accordingly. The overall academic leadership skill is significantly related with overall academic and physical competitiveness of the selected public elementary schools in the division of Bataan, and is lowly correlated with sports competitiveness. It is recommended that: School Administrators may create positive investigatory view on facts that activities beyond lessons are essential part of overall learning. Besides, it may not only make school more pleasurable but also create an atmosphere that promotes spirit and social interactions among leaners; School Administrators shall give emphasis on the essence of cooperation, responsibility, dedication and commitment in the performance of duties through activities; District Supervisors shall adopt a visionary leadership style in setting standards to encourage a developmental career for staff and ensure everyone skills to date and continue to learn and resolve issues: Further studies may use this as basis for enhancement to the department to promote, develop, provide and ensure responsive learning needs in education. Lastly both district supervisors and school administrators shall commit to a culture of excellence through transparency and dedicated to assist a Filipino child become responsible citizen.
