Summary, etc. | Decision making is one of the most important activities in which school administrators engage daily while instructional supervision is, by role definition, the main function of school principals. These tasks could be a challenge even to seasoned administrators specially neophyte leaders. This study aims to describe the preference in decision making and the instructional supervisory practices of neophyte public school administrators. Fifty principals participated in the study and it was found that in making decisions, beginning school leaders mostly prefer using established practices, followed by relevance, and then pertinent data. Though they were still novice in the fields, the respondents had high performance in terms of instructional supervision. Finally it was found that the preferences in decision-making were positively correlated with the instructional supervision of neophyte principals (p<.01). |
