Summary, etc. Teacher empowerment has been known to have positive associations with a number of teachers' work-related outcomes, such as teaching quality and innovation, teacher leadership, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and professional commitment, which could further impact on classroom improvement and school effectiveness. While literature has provided texts on the subject, drawing the context of empowerment from the teachers themselves could provide understanding on the behaviors and perspectives of teachers which could lead to support services for their professional and personal growth. This paper used Q methodology to explore the definition of teacher empowerment based from the preferences and experiences of elementary teachers in the division of Bataan. The concourse was developed through an intensive review of literature and the Q-Sample of 56 statements were selected through expert validation. Purposive sampling was used to select the 56 study participants. Q-sorts were analyzed using the PQ Method Software which revealed four factors through the Principal Component Analysis and the Scree test. Results revealed that teacher empowerment is about competence, compassion, influence and autonomy. The model Q-sort showed the general perspective of the participants on empowerment which was dedication. Recommendations were provided to address issues found in the conduct of the study emphasizing the need to provide support for the growth of teachers both personally and professionally.
