The study is a qualitative study, a Case Method study which serves as a base line of the study in exploring the best practices in teaching World History in Grade 8 students among the City Schools Division of Balanga City. The study was centered in the three redeeming words about the whole essence of the research which is educating, strategy and implementation. The researcher made use of purposive sampling technique in determining the ten respondents of the study which are identified as Social Studies teacher of Grade 8. In addition, the researcher gathered the data using a unstructured interview which led to formulating the results and findings of the study. The interview among the Social Studies teacher was done separately were the researcher ask for their profile and responses. The recorded audio was transcribed and analyzed using thematic analysis and was verified by the researcher through continuous reflection. The study revealed the best practices done in by the Social Studies Teacher in the City Schools Division of Balanga. The results are based from the emerging themes reflected in the study. The best practices done by the participants of the study includes Video Presentation, Remedial or Tutoring, Integration of Technology, Group Activity or Cooperative Learning, Games, Localization of Topics, Social Media, Role Playing, Visual Aids or Strategic Intervention Materials and Socratic Method. It was found out that the strategies appeared are useful tools in integrating knowledge to Grade Eight students studying World History. Lastly, the researcher recommends enhancement of the current teaching practices which is centered in innovation and helping learners develop a sense of appreciation and love in studying World History in Grade 8. |
