| General note | The primary aim of this book is to make psychology accessible to students and to give psychologists and teachers of psychology a book that will meet their various needs. The author hopes the readers of this book will gain a thorough understanding of the scope and content of psychology and develop an interest in the discipline so that they will continuously explore psychology more comprehensively either on their own or in their advanced courses. The authors tackling the study of general psychology within the time constraints of an introductory course. It maintained materials in the previous editions and added new topics on health psychology featuring stress, abnormal behavior based on DSM-IV and environmental psychology. Topics are presented in the simplest way and in the most understandable manner. Relevant issues and problems are included in boxes for better comprehension of the subject matter. Current researchers on classical psychology were added for further reflective analysis. With the wide range of areas covered, teachers are given much flexibility to expound on the subject matter according to the needs of their students.
