In this second edition The basic fundamentals of Psychology- its areas of study, its methods, its theories, its research findings along with their implications, and we do with three criteria in mind: (1) a realistic coverage of the basic topics in psychology, I n line with both academic requirements and student needs; (2) Adequacy of treatment of subject matter; and (3) usefulness and relevance to the faculty, the students and the curriculum , Further it is included the classical studies that have changed the direction of psychology, in this book the work being done on the frontiers of psychological research today. The contents of this volume have been organized in accordance with a definite conceptual scheme. Part 1 includes II chapters: the first on what psychology is all about, and the second, on how psychologist study human behavior. Part II includes three chapter dealing with the brain, the nervous system , and the endocrine system, sensation and perception; and the prenatal period, infancy, childhood and puberty; and second, on adolescence, adulthood, and old age. In Part III, there are two chapters, with the first chapter focusing on the pre-natal period, infancy, childhood and puberty, and the second, on adolescence, adulthood and old age. Part IV has four chapters dealing with learning, memory, cognition, and intelligence and individual differences. The topic in Part V pertain to motivation, emotion and sexual behavior. Part VI has three chapters: the first two chapters tackle the development and assessment of personality and the third (and last chapter of the book) deals with frustration conflict stress and adjustment.
