This study assessed the Extent of Implementation of Schools Sports Program in Secondary Schools. Specifically, it conducted a study on the profile of the high school students in terms of age, sex, family income and parents' educational attainment; profile of the MAPEH teachers in terms of age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, relevant training and seminars attended and teacher learning competencies; school-related factors such as administrative support, budget allocation and adequacy, availability and functionality of sports facilities and equipment; and the level of implementation of schools sports program in terms of physical fitness test, selection of athletes and involvement in athletic competition. The researcher used the descriptive method. The respondents were the twenty nine (29) MAPEH teachers and six hundred eighty eight students from grade 7 to fourth year were selected using the stratified random sampling. The study involved public secondary schools in the City Schools Division of Balanga specifically, Bataan National High School and City of Balanga National High School. Questionnaire was utilized to gather data needed in this study. The questionnaire was prepared in two sets- for teacher and student respondents. Profile of the respondents; schools-related factors such as administrative support, budget allocation and adequacy, availability and functionality of sports facilities and equipment; and the extent of implementation of schools sports program in terms of physical fitness test, selection of athletes and involvement in athletic competition. vii Statistical tools such as frequency counts, percentage, mean, Pearson correlation, Spearman Rho Correlation, Independent samples t-test and Mann-Whitney U-test were utilized. The frequency counts and percentage were used to present the profile of the student and teacher respondents. The profile of students include age, sex, family income, and parents' educational attainment while that of the teachers involve age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, and relevant seminars attended. Weighted mean, with corresponding descriptive equivalent or interpretation, was used to describe the teacher learning competencies. Similarly, weighted mean was used to present the school related factors in terms of budget allocation, administrative support, and availability, adequacy and functionality of sports facilities and equipment and the extent of implementation of the schools sports program in terms of physical fitness test, selection of athletes, and involvement in athletic competition. For the relationship of student related factors with the extent of implementation of schools sports program, Spearman Rho Correlation and Independent Samples T-test were used. Spearman Rho Correlation was employed for profiles such as age, family income, father's educational attainment and mother's educational attainment as these are of ordinal level of measurement while Independent Samples T-test was more appropriate for sex as it is a nominal data. Independent Samples T-test indirectly determines the relationship of nominal variables such as sex with extent of implementation of schools sports program. For the relationship of teacher-related factors with the extent of implementation of schools sports program, Spearman Rho Correlation and Mann-Whitney U test were used. These non-parametric versions of Pearson Correlation and Independent Samples T-test, respectively were utilized considering the number of respondents as well as the assumptions associated with viii these tests. Spearman Rho Correlation was employed for profiles such as age, competency and number of trainings/seminars attended while Mann-Whitney U-test for civil status, sex, and highest educational attainment. Result of the study reveals the following findings: The study revealed that student-respondents are they are very willing to involve themselves in activities offered by the school to promote sports; female nowadays is more expose in different program specifically to sports program; student-monthly family income lies between the middle class to less family income and parents know the background and characteristics of the educational path provided with the expectations and limitations offered. On the other hand, the study found out that the MAPEH teachers in City Division of Balanga can be described as young adult, young graduates of MAPEH are now being employed in the Division of Balanga City as shown as describe in age and civil status, administrators gave equal opportunity in hiring teachers specifically major in a field of specialization regardless of their civil status; then, there is a need for MAPEH teachers to pursue their masters' degree and the schools provided regular supports to send their teachers to some training, seminars, workshops and some course related to sports which help their teachers to advance their knowledge and skills in improving and enhancing their competencies in quest for an effective schools sports program. With regards to teacher learning competencies, it was attained and followed by the teachers. Competencies set objectively and subjectively are met in accordance with the right procedure. Meanwhile, the school-related factors such as administrative support, budget allocation and availability, adequacy and functionality of sports facilities and equipment ix are evident in public secondary school in the City Division of Balanga. On the other hand, sex and extent of implementation of schools sports program is not significantly related. The same thing as, teacher-related factors such as age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment and relevant training and seminars attended has no significant relationship with the extent implementation of schools sports program. Alternatively, teacher learning competencies has significant relationship with the extent of implementation of schools sports program. It shows that, teachers' concept in how to deliver the sports program is a factor that will affect its outcomes. In terms of school-related factors and extent of implementation of schools sports program. Evidently, school- related factors are significantly correlated with schools sports program. In view of the findings presented, the following conclusions were drawn: The student-related factors such as age, sex, family income and parents highest educational attainment has no significant relationship in the extent implementation of schools sports program. Likewise, teacher-related factors such as age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment and relevant training and seminars attended has no significant relationship in the extent of implementation of schools sports program. On the other hand, teacher learning competencies has significant relationship with the extent of x implementation of schools sports program. School-related factors has significant relationship with the extent of implementation of schools sports program. In the light of the findings of the study, the following recommendation was proposed: The administrator together with the MAPEH teacher should maintain the implementation of the schools sports program that provide equal opportunity both to students of all ages, sex and other related factor.
