ABSTRACT First-time mothers are likely to experience difficulties in the changes encompassing their physical appearance and as well as looking and taking care of their newborn baby because of lack of knowledge about motherhood and about the emotional stresses accompanying it. It is in the light of this need and demand that the study was conducted. The main purpose of the study is to determine the factors that affect the postpartum experience of the first-time mothers. The investigation was confined to 192 first-time mothers of Dinalupihan District Hospital and Orani District Hospital Calendar year 2006.
