Proposed learning management system for select courses in Electrical Engineering Program [manuscript] / Roland Santos Manalang.

By: Material type: TextTextPublication details: Balanga City : BPSU, 2019.Description: 191 leaves ; 28 cmSubject(s): Summary: This study aimed at the development of a Learning Management System (LMS) using the Open-Sourced Modular-Object Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE). The descriptive developmental study was conducted among students of the Electrical Engineering program who are future examinees of the Electrical Engineering Board Exam. The research was done in three phases: 1) the development or construction phase; 2) implementation phase and 3) the validation phase. The development phase required a needs analysis in the identification of the learning methods and needs of the students. It was found out that the students favored traditional learning with minimal use of multi-media materials thus, the researcher pursued the study to create a blended learning environment suitable for the changing needs of the times. In phase 2 or the implementation phase, the actual software was configured and uploaded in the MoodleCloud website with free hosting plan subscription. It has gained three sides to it, as an LMS, a software product and a website. In phase 3, the learning management system was validated using three standards of testing. As an LMS, it has been evaluated for creation, organization, delivery, assessment and feedback and records by the intended users and the faculty. It has also been evaluated under the ISO/IEC 40500:2012 or Web Content Accessibility Guideline 2.0 and under the ISO/IEC 25010 or the software product quality standard. It has passed all the vi requirements in all three categories with users and experts recommending deployment of the software. The limitations and weakness of the LMS however, are to be further addressed for its better and wider usage in the university.
