The study aimed to investigate the significant relationship of the demographic profile of the respondents and the effectiveness of the DOTS program among children affected with pulmonary tuberculosis in the selected barangays of Orani, Bataan. It sought to find out if there was a significant relationship between rural health units related factors and the level of effectiveness of DOTS program. The study involved 50 children registered at the RHU diagnosed with primary complex from the different barangays of Orani, Bataan. The socio-demographic profile of the respondents was limited to eight (8) variables which include age, gender, health condition of parents/relatives, immunization status, parents' educational attainment, source income, distance from the health center and parental lifestyle specially smoking, gambling, drinking and eating habits. The RHU related factors were limited to three (3) variables which included work attitude towards client, supervision of clients and availability and adequacy of supplies and medications. The effectiveness of the DOTS program was limited to three variables which include cured, treatment failure and defaulter.
