Thesis (MBA) - BPSU, 2021.

This study sought to determine the main reasons that led successful Bataeņo entrepreneurs to take on different career paths and create their own ventures. Society now emphasizes the standard of what is deemed normal based on the customary of getting your degree and landing a related job. The inspiration for this research came from the eagerness of the researcher to personally overcome the fear of failing and encourage this trend withstanding employment challenges. The study made use of descriptive phenomenological approach, beginning with a preliminary data gathering and keeping a reflective journal throughout. By means of purposive sampling method, eight entrepreneurs who met the predetermined criteria were interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. Moustakas' (1994) systematic procedure of analyzing data was used to facilitate the method of transcendental phenomenology. The results show that the entrepreneurial intention of Bataeņo entrepreneurs roots in their desire for personal growth, the dissatisfaction with their jobs, the necessity to earn more, and the influence of their surroundings. They perceive entrepreneurial success in high inventory turnover, increasing assets, a growing number of employees and branches, and its good reputation and ability to help the community. In conclusion, entrepreneurial intention arises from personal experiences at the individual and macro environmental level. The economic and social environment especially play a huge role in this. Further, Bataeņo entrepreneurs are highly open to various experiences, highly conscientious of the future, and very agreeable individuals.
