General Psychology With Emphasis on Human Growth and Development Through the Lifespan. - 1st/ed. - Philippines : Valencia Educational Supply, c2005. - ii, 391p. (np) 23cm

The goal in this book is to guide our students to think critically and imaginatively about psychological issues and to hold them apply what they learn in their own life and the world around them. With the fast pace changing world, each of them should absorb what psychology is. However, we can only pitch ideas on our students, they have to step in to connect with issues. This book will remain only as a guide a collection of pages with ink on them unless the students choose to read actively. When they are involved with the concepts embodied in the book, then they are learning, In this case, the more successful the book and the course will be, we would assume they go our message. Every chapter starts with topic objectives and list of topics to give a quick view of chapter content. Every chapter contains activities that test the understanding, retention, and ability of the student and apply what he or she has to read the examples. These activities are given for practical use, and we hope, for the positive outcome. We intentionally put these activities for them to respond thoroughly, to be more engaged with the material, learn more, and become more sophisticated user of psychology. It is advised that the instructor/ professor uses occasionally the multimedia of the university to supplement the technical concepts presented in this book particularly the physiological bases of behavior and other components of sensory processes, perception and consciousness. The students will appreciate learning if the concepts explained in this book will be accompanied with film showing and appropriate visual aids.
