ABSTRACT The study was on the status of Mathematics instructions, as a basis for competency needs of Mathematics faculty members at Olongapo City tertiary schools, during the school year 2006-2007 The descriptive - survey method of research utilizing the questionnaire and unstructured interview was used in the study. The researcher utilized the total number of Mathematics instructors in the City of Olongapo. There were 65 mathematics instructors from the different colleges. The survey questionnaire was the principal tool in gathering the data needed in the conduct of the study. The gathered data through the questionnaire was tallied, tabulated and analyzed using following statistical tools: Percentage; Mean; and T-test.
