- FACTORS AFFECTING THE PERFORMANCE OF ENGINEERING STUDENTS IN DIFFERENTIAL CALCULUS .
ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine which among the students profile and teacher factors were related to students' performance in Differential Calculus of the engineering students who took Differential Calculus during the First Semester of AY 2007-2008 in Bataan Peninsula State University, Main Campus. It specifically sought to describe the profiles of the student respondents in terms of gender, birth order, monthly income of family, and the parents' highest educational attainment. It also measured the effect of the students' study habits, attitude towards mathematics, and their teachers' competency in teaching mathematics to their Differential Calculus. The study also described the students' performance in Differential Calculus as expressed by their Final Grade. Moreso, it sought answers to these null hypotheses: there is no relationship between students' related factors and their performance in Differential Calculus and; there is no relationship between the teacher-related factors and the performance of students in Differential Calculus.
