500 _aPsychology White is promoted as a learner-centered text. It states that it aims to awaken students' curiosity regarding psychology as well as encourage and motivate their desire to learn through reading and engaging with the material. To all intents and purposes, it appears to be designed to achieve this. It is comprised of fifteen main chapters covering the basic and core topics that are expected to be present in an undergraduate introductory text. These move from the basis of psychology, major theoretical perspectives (e.g. psychodynamic, humanistic), the scientific method, and then to topics within biological, cognitive, social, developmental, health, individual differences, and abnormal psychology. Some topics are grouped together (e.g. thinking, intelligence and language are placed under 'Cognition') whilst others are perhaps a little surprisingly assigned their own chapter (e.g. 'Sexuality and Gender'). Keyword: motivation, social, developmental health, individual
