Alternative Futures: Towards A Learning Society Foundation for Continuing Education.

Past conferences on education, both in the formal and non-formal areas have re-examined assumptions of educational goals, assessed existing approaches and have come up with alternatives. While the conference, the proceedings of which are published in this book, also focused on strategies and alternatives, it differed from previous meetings in that it provided a much more comprehensive approach. The congress dealt with both the formal and non-formal and why and how the content and methodology of learning must keep peace with the dynamic changes around us. It tried to foresee developments in the 21st century and beyond which implies the development of appropriate attitudes and skills, and an integrative process, and holistic approach to learning.
